Getting in a Flap

What a treat you gave us last week with all the stylish boots and shoes you added to your cards - did you find a favourite "must-have" pair among them all? Thanks you for sharing your creativity with us once more.

This week it's me, Kathy, here with a new challenge for you:
Getting in a Flap
I'd like to see cards with flaps this week. Little flaps that you lift up or open out to see a secret "something" hidden behind or bigger flaps that form part of the actual card. Maybe even little birdies with wings that really "flap" As long as it's a flap that lifts up from your card it will count - just flat images of a bird or butterfly flapping it's wings won't!
Now, I'm sure I had something in mind when I added this one to the calendar but by the time I came to make my card that idea was nowhere to be found, never mind eh? I know that you'll be coming up with all sorts of fabulous, inventive ideas and I can't wait to see your cards.

Once again the Design Team have risen to the challenge - they always do, no matter how hard you try to confound them hehe!
Here's what they've come up with this week to help get your creative juices Flapping around!

If the Shoe Fits........

A HUGE thank you to all who proved that diamonds really are a girl's best friend and shared their diamond inspired cards with us over the last week.
Last week we announce that Nat had agreed to join us as a permanent member of the DT, and this time we're thrilled to tell you that the lovely Asia Wu, who'll you know from a couple of Guest Designer spots here on The Daring Cardmakers is also joining the team. Both "new girls" will be bringing a breath of fresh air, and a whole lot of new inspiration to the team. Welcome aboard, Asia and Nat.

A couple of weeks ago we mentioned that Sue was taking some time off to allow her poorly eye a chance to get properly better, however she's left us a challenge (and a card to go with it) to play with in her absence. We hope you'll enjoy it.

If the Shoe Fits...
buy it in every colour, as the saying goes!

We all wear them, don't we? so this week I would like to lots of footwear on your cards.
Boots, shoes, sandals, trainers, ballet shoes, slippers.... the list is almost endless so I'm sure there'll be some fab fancy footwork to admire this week.
One thing, though - no cheating, please - We don't want any sneaky stuff like "My Tilda's wearing shoes so I'm entering this card" - oh no, we're far too mean to allow!
(and Sue says she'll be checking up on you :-0)
Here are some cards from the DT to get you thinking, we're hoping you'll be coming back soon to leave a link so we can see your own fancy footwork.

Happy Crafting!

A Diamond for April

Hello and welcome to a brand new month of dares with the Daring Cardmakers!
Thanks to everyone who helped make Lythan's "Eggs" theme so much fun last week - we had such a great time looking at all your cards.

Before announcing this week's little challenge we'd like to introduce our lovely new Guest Designer - we're thrilled to have
Cinnamon Sally
with us for the whole of April and we're sure that you'll just love seeing her fabulous cards. Why not head over to Sally's blog and see all the lovely things she makes - actually, why not visit the blogs of all our Team - we'd love to get some messages from you!

We're also delighted to say that Nat will be joining the Design Team full time from now on - how fab is that?

Well, as you know we're looking to each month's birthstone for inspiration for the first dare of that month. This month is a bit of a tricky one (well we found it tricky anyway...) The birthstone for April is the
Diamond
so we'd like you to come up with cards which relate in some way to diamonds.
How you decide to use the birthstone is up to you, it may be a card for someone who has a birthday during this month, featuring "diamonds. or it may be a card that refers to the meaning or mythology surrounding the stone - anything goes, really as long as somehow the birthstone is hinted at.

The team have made some lovely cards which will hopefully get you thinking.
Don't forget to come back and let us know where we can see your creations - we do enjoy our tours of blog-land every week.
Have fun

How Egg-Citing

Thanks for all those lovely bird cards last week. In our case we can answer the question - what came first the chicken or the egg? because last week it was the chicken on a card and and this week its the egg! For our Dare (chosen by Lythan) is
How Egg-citing!

Easter is on its way. Which, amongst other things means Easter Eggs. So be inspired by egg shapes or chocolate or both!

We are very sad this week because it is the last week to feature our wonderful guest designers Asia and Nat. You have been fabulous darlings - thanks so much for the inspiration!

And we are also saying adieu - but
not goodbye to our gorgeous Sue. She is having to take a leave of absence for a wee while. We will miss you Sue.
As always, we'd love to see what you make, so please come back and leave a link so we can admire your creations.
The design team have come up with a nest full of cards to (ahem) egg you on.

Tweetie Pie

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful Daffodil cards over this last week. It has really been wonderful to visit and see those beautiful bright spring and summer colours.

This week it's Vanessa here to set the dare and I really love this time of year because the nights are rapidly getting shorter and the days longer. Spring is in the air, the birds are chirping and tweeting early in the mornings and I'm starting to think about mowing that lawn again!

Your challenge this week is :
Tweetie Pie
Please use a bird or birds on your card and that's it, any kind you like.

As always, we'd love to see what you make, so please come back and leave a link so we can admire your creations.
The design team have come up with a wonderful array of "tweetie pies" to start you thinking.

A Host of Golden Daffodils

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful March Birthstone cards with us over the last week. It's been such a pleasure to see all those gorgeous shades of aquamarine featuring on your cards, it really is a lovely colour to work with.
This week it's Lynda here to set the challenge and as my birthday occurs in March, and we've already covered the birthstone for the month, I thought it would be a lovely idea to use the March flower as inspiration for our cards.
So I'd like to see...
A Host of Golden Daffodils
this week.
Please use daffodils on your cards or maybe make a card inspired in some way by those sunny yellow flowers.

As always, we'd love to see what you make, so please come back and leave a link so we can admire your creations.

The design team have come up with this "bouquet" to start you thinking
