Celebrating Spring!

Hello! It's Kathy here today,
Welcome to The Daring Cardmakers and another of our weekly challenges.  First though, a big 'Thank You' to everyone who joined in last week and got 'Krafty' with Nat's challenge - it's always inspiring to see the ways you respond to our challenges.

Here in the Northern Hemisphere we're emerging from the Winter months and looking forward to lighter days and warmer weather. This is Easter weekend, and some of us have an extra long Public Holiday to enjoy - so what better time to be
Celebrating Spring!
I'd like you to  have some fun and celebrate all things Spring with cards featuring something that springs or bounces - 'virtual gold stars' if you can get a real moving element in there too.
Here are some ideas from the team to get you thinking

Svenja    (Springs in image + moving element)

Dawn         (sprung clothes-peg)

Sharon          (The bunny is on an action wobbler)

Lythan    (blue flower wobbles on a card spiral)

Kathy   (butterflies on wire 'springs')

Dianne    (pop up inside)

Nat (the bunny spins after winding him up on the string)

Miri (spring card without a moving element ... sorry)

Hand-Krafted Creations

Hi everyone!

It's Nat here bringing you this week's dare!

Thanks for the lovely entries in Dawn's Speedy challenge last week.

As the title suggests, this week I want you to focus on that staple item in our cardstock arsenal -
 kraft!

You can showcase it by using it as the base for your card, using kraft patterned papers, or even embellishments and die-cuts that feature kraft.

Here are some ideas to get you started from the design team:

SPEEDY

Happy Friday everyone and thank you so much for playing along with last weeks elemental inspiration challenge.  It was lovely to see all your spring inspired creations.

It's Dawn here with this weeks challenge and it's called......

A NEED FOR SPEED

The new season of F1 motor racing is due to start in the next couple of weeks and I know that my husband will be glued to the television.  I would like to see some sort of vehicle on your card.  Something that gets you from A to B with a bit of speed.  This could be a car, motorbike, bus, bicycle.  Anything with wheels or an engine.

Check out below what the Design Team came up with to help with your creativity.

March Elemental Inspiration

Hello crafters,

Thanks for sharing your irresistible cards with us. It was great to see very diverse ways to use resist-techniques.

Today we are sooo happy to introduce
 our marvellous March Guest Designer.
We're thrilled to bits to have her playing along with us this month and we are sure you'll enjoy seeing her work here, and be inspired by her amazing creativity. You'll find Dianne's first DCM card below, and you can visit her BLOG for a veritable feast of papercrafting treats!

Do remember we're always on the lookout for future Guest Designers - contact us if you like what we do and feel you'd fit right in!

It’s Miri here and I had enough of the cold and icy winter … I think it’s finally time for spring. So for the first Friday in March I picked this picture.

Use it as an inspiration for your card and pick at least three  elements from the picture that you would like to use: for example the colours, flowers/tulips, ribbon/string, lemons/fruit, big letters, wood, dishes, furniture …

Have a look at the Design Team’s creations to get even more ideas and inspiration!

Simply ir-resistable

Good morning everyone!

I hope you all enjoyed Zuzana’s geometrical patterns challenge as much as I did. The blog and your entries certainly looked in good shape!

It’s Svenja here with a new challenge for you. It is…..

simply ir-resistable

make a card using some kind of resist technique.

Resist Technique has fascinated me ever since I first came across it. I think it’s just this magical moment when an image appears from a white background – like in the photography-lab back in school.
And there’s so many different ways to achieve the effect: you could use resist-ink like VersaMark, you could do an emboss-resist technique (ironing the embossed bits off or leaving the on, just as you like) or even use some wax to keep the colour off your paper (even a candle might do there).

So, will you join me in the magic? The members of the Design Team already have and just look at all the beautiful creations they came up with!

So, my this week challenge is all about
'Getting Geometric'
Create a card with geometric pattern on. You can choose your pattern as a background or focal point. It's entire up to you.

Now, here are some inspirational images :
