Fantastic Elastic!

Our house seems to be overloaded with loom bands at the moment so I thought that it would be fun to incorporate a little twang into this week's dare!

Loom bands, plain old rubber bands,  some sewing elastic, or even a hair band; its up to you as long has it has some sort of stretch factor.

Beautiful Beach Huts

Hello there!
Welcome to another challenge from the Daring Cardmakers.  Thank you so much for joining in with Svenja's Colour Combo last week - those colours were fab and brought back memories of my teenage bedroom.....

It's me, Kathy, here this week and as we're still enjoying a long, hot Summer (I hope you are too - or maybe if you're in the Southern Hemisphere you're already dreaming of Summer), I thought I'd be a bit indulgent and ask to see cards featuring one of my absolute favourite "beachy" things:

Beautiful Beach Huts

I love to see these cute and colourful little "houses" - there are loads of them all around the coast here in the UK.  My favourite beach huts are in Southwold, Suffolk- I spotted one of these for sale a few weeks ago priced at an unbelievable  £100,000.  I did suggest it would make a wonderful anniversary present for me, but I guess I wasn't really surprised when I didn't get it.  hey ho.  hehehe

So, back to wishing and admiring, and I hope you'll make lots of 
lovely Beach Hut cards for me to swoon over this week.

August Colour Combo Dare

Good morning out there!

First of all: thanks to everyone for participating in last week’s “Inspired by Kathy” challenge. I thoroughly enjoyed the chance to revisit Kathy’s lovely work and er hope you did too. We got to see some lovely flowers and foliage. (And I certainly learned something about adding a swirl in just the right place…) Thanks a lot to Lythan who came up with the idea for this lovely challenge. And of course to Kathy who keeps us all going on a daily basis: you’re the best!

Today is the beginning of a new month which means it’s time for a new colour combo challenge. I went for an all-time favourite of mine:

Creating - Kathy Style!

"Water" load of lovely cards you shared with us last week. I hope that this dare will get your creative juices flowing as well. There is also the opportunity to get yourself lost in the crafty wonder that is Kathy Black's blog - Kathy's Waffle. Kathy is a real card artist but as you will know if you have looked at her blog, she is also generous in passing on tips and techniques and the odd cutting file as well. She also helpfully creates monthly sketches at the Sketch File  which are always worth a look. Kathy  has been part of Daring Cardmakers from the beginning and produces stylish cards that always have that certain something - so choose one of her cards, examine the style and be inspired.

The rest of us on the Design Team owe her so much as she is the one doing most of the work in the background, runs the forum that we use and generally keeps us motivated - I expect that is why we have been able to keep creating cards for the challenges for so long. Thank you so much Kathy, it is all really appreciated!

But it is really her card talent and style that we want to showcase here. I hope you enjoy looking at what has inspired us and then dare to be creative yourself!

Out on the water

Hi everyone!

It's Nat here bringing you this week's dare.

Thanks to everyone who shared the fantastic summer holiday-themed projects for Svenja's dare last week.

Well, on a similar theme this week we're escaping to the waterside. It's that time of year when many of us will be heading for the beach to enjoy the waves, lazing by the pool or spending time by the lake swimming all day long or being more adventurous and doing some fun activities on the water.

Your challenge this week is to make a card that celebrates any aspect of how we humans enjoy the water on our planet.

July Colours

Good morning everyone!  

Are you are ready for a new dare today?  

We hope you really enjoyed last weeks dare and were inspired to create without using scissors!  We loved seeing the ideas you came up with and the cards you made - Thank You for joining in.
