Sprinkles!

Hi girls :)

It was lovely to see such a great response in the last dare and see so many of you being delighted to rediscover old papers etc.. in your stash. There were some really gorgeous cards made by you all and we're glad you enjoyed the dare as much as we did. Wasn't it nice to be able to use up some old supplies and create such beautiful cards in the process!?

This week we're working with sprinkles. If you'd like to join in and play along then create a card using some teeny weeny dots/spots to represent little sprinkles. You might add a splash of french knots, beads, small sequins or bling, teeny buttons, hand drawn dots, paint splotches or think up something else thats teeny, tiny and sprinkled.

The Design Team have incorporated many different sprinkles in their cards below and we hope this provides some inspiration for you all so that you can get started :) We're looking forward to seeing all your cards, so don't forget to post a link on the blog here when you're finished.

We are also pleased to welcome our fabulously talented Guest Designer - Miss August - it's Nicky aka Nickynoo!

Let's get sprinkling!

Golden oldies......

Welome daring Friday fellow darers ! Thank you so much for all your contributions to both Rhi's journal dare and this weeks Little extra, 'I do - with a twist'.

We really enjoyed seeing what you all thought up for the dares, thank you so much for joining in.

NOW ! - on to this weeks dare - we have a team dare this week, and we were thinking.....with so many new things /latest papers/ trendy stuff constantly coming on the market, we thought it would be nice to have a look back, and dig out some of our 'old' papers and embellishments and make a card with our 'preloved' treasures. I think the tendency these days is to get on the 'latest must have' band wagon, sometimes, its nice to recognise what we already have- even if it isn't the 'latest' embellishment/paper.

Here's a few lovely designs from our design team- a little trip down memory lane........of the card making world !

Don't forget to leave us a link to your card, so we can pop along and have a look at
your wonderful creations !

Thanks to all who take part in our weekly dares, we do appreciate all your hard work and thank you for your support. :)

Spot the Difference

Hi, it's Rhi here this week to dare you, and it's...Journalling spots. They're used all the time in scrapbooking where it's extra personal to read someone's words and memories in their own hand. Use a journalling spot, be it stamped, premade, handcut, digital or doodled, to frame your handwritten message on your card. Have a look at the cards we've made, then share your creations by leaving a link, I dare you!

This week we also have some very exciting news to share with you in that we have some new full time designers on our team- so we are offering a big welcome back as full time members of the Daring Card Makers team to Jozza, Rein and Vanessa !! We are really pleased and proud to have such talented ladies added to the team ! :)

Cards with a certain a-Peel (off)

You can blame Keryn with her rather lovely cool colours dare last week (great cards all BTW!) for the inspiration for this week. I found that I needed to use a peel off and was quite pleased with the results and that got me thinking of a fiendish dare. At least it is for me (Lythan) who is often disparaging of the much maligned shiny sticker. But actually there are some really nice examples of the genre around now. And also people who can do all sorts of gorgeous things with peel off stickers that I would not have thought of. Are you one of them?

So go on, rummage around in your craft stash and

Make a card with Peel Offs

If you really truly honestly don't have any peel offs in the house (and remember I know where you live and will be checking personally) then and only then, are you allowed to use another type of sticker in its place. Go on, I dare you!

Brrrrrr..........Freezing

Hi it's Keryn here and it's my turn to set the dare this week, but before I do I'd like to thank you all for joining in with Jo's Christmas in June dare As always your cards are fabulous.

As time is flying and we are in a new month so it's also time to say a big thank you and Goodbye to Jozza our June Guest Designer, wasn't her work just fabulous. We have a new Guest Designer with us for July. I'd like you to welcome Beverley a very talented cardmaker. I think you'll enjoy her creations.

In New Zealand at the moment it's winter and cold and dark. No snow here as temperatures don't get that low but still low enough that that's all anyone thinks about and anyone talks about. So this dare should be easy for those in the colder climes of the Southern Hemisphere but in the North it may be a little trickier. Use images, use colour, use embellishments that make you feel cold and remind you of winter.

As always we love to see your cards so post them on your blog and leave us a comment so we can come over and admire them. If you don't have a blog EMail them to us to be placed in our gallery.
