Getting Punchy With It

Hi it's Keryn here and before I let you know my dare for this week I'd like to say that it's been great checking out all your favourite crafting things that you used to make your cards for Kathy's 'Favourite Things' Dare last week.

And on to this weeks dare: -

I love punches and use them on almost every card I make. This week I want you to join with me and make a card, any type, any theme but it needs to use your latest craft punch purchase. If you haven't bought any punches for a while or don't own any at all your latest craft purchase will be quite acceptable.

When you've made your card leave us a comment so that we can pop over and see your masterpiece.

Favourite Things

Hi there

we'd all like to welcome you to the very first dare of our 4th year here on The Daring Cardmakers. Before that though, we must say a h
uge "Thank You" to all who joined in with Lythan's fab "I Can See Clearly Now" challenge last week.
We saw so many wonderful cards and some very inspiring and inventive uses of acetate and other similar bits and pieces, so thanks again for playing along with us.

It's me (Kathy) here with a challenge this week and as we're still in celebratory mood I thought we should have as much fun as possible and make a card to share and show our most favourite crafting bits and pieces.

"These are a Few of My Favourite Things"

This is a chance to go mad with the papers, embellishm
ents, tools and styles you really love to use.
I'd like you to use at least 5 of your own personal favourite things on your card this week - if you can make it 10 then you can claim our DCM Gold Star - virtual, of course lol.

If you can't bear to give it away when it's full of all those treasured goodies, then make the card for yourself - you can always stick it up on your wall and enjoy seeing it every day!

That's it - any type of card, any occasion, any theme - just
enjoy using your favourite stash and have fun.
Don't forget to list those favourites you've used on your blogs and then leave a link so we can see your creations and compare our lists with yours.

Here's what the DT came up with when left to indulge themselves and wallow in their favourite things - head over to our personal blogs to find out more!

I Can See Clearly Now....

It has been fab to see the feast of purple over the last week. Lots of really special cards
And this week is a bit special - no not because I (Lythan) am setting the dare but because it is the last dare of the Daring year. Yes, next Friday will be our official birthday. There may not be big extravaganzas - we are not really like that - but there will be big smiles. Why not have a look at the cards from three years ago and see how we have changed?

This week's dare is
I can see clearly now
and I would love to see something clear on your card. It could be an acetate card, an acetate embellishment, a window cut in the card, clingfilm, OHP sheet, Mirror fragments - anything that shows that your card is clearly one of the best!

Autumn Purple

Thank you so much for joining in and sharing your wonderful folding up creations with us for the team dare this last week. It was great to come along and see and be inspired by all the fabulous folding techniques.

This week we're sad to say Goodbye to our lovely Tanya-Leigh, in a way this is good news because it means her own craft business is going so well that something else has got to give - just a shame that it's the DCM - but we wish you well, Tanya-Leigh, it's been fab having you around and we hope your business keeps on growing

This week we're seeing purple! You can blame me (Vanessa) for this one. I'm not a great fan of purple, but after wandering through the streets browsing the shop windows of my new town, I saw lots of purple going on in the fashion displays. So that is your brief for this week! :) Anything goes as long as the predominate colour is purple.

Don't forget to leave your link in the comments section so we can come along and see.

We're Folding

Thank you so much for sharing all those fabulous cards you made for Jo's Tartan It Up! dare.
It was good to see you all rummaging through your crafty stash to find those little bits of tartan ribbon, paper, fabric etc to use on your cards. We know how hard it was!

We have lots of news to share before we announce this week's challenge so here goes.

Please welcome our brand new Guest Designer,
Janice, aka Serial Crafter. Janice is a long-time follower of the DCM and one of our most regular contributors so we were thrilled when she agreed to come on board for the month of October. We hope you'll enjoy seeing her lovely cards on here and that you'll be sure to visit her blog to see what else she's been up to.

Just as Rein is getting better after her fall, we have another casualty - we'd like you to join us in wishing our lovely Sue a very speedy recovery from the emergency eye surgery she had earlier this week. Poor Sue has to lie very still for at least a week while everything settles down, so we wish her well and we're sure you do too.

On a happier note we're absolutely delighted to announce that we have two new Teamies!
Lynda and Paula are both going to stay on as full-time DCM team members. We think you'll agree that they've both brought a "breath of fresh air" over the last few weeks with their innovation and often quirky styles. Right from the start (we're 3 years old this month btw) DCM has been all about having fun with card-making and hopefully we inspire other card-makers along the way, so we're sure Paula and Lynda will be helping us to continue our tradition of no-pressure, fun card-making into another year. And Finally we get to this weeks challenge!

Folding Up

It's "just what it says on the tin", we'd like to see some folds on your cards this week.
Fold the whole card, fold some paper, fold some ribbon.
Do some origami, teabag folding or just fold over a corner of your paper to reveal the other side.
As long as there's some sort of folding used as a feature of your card then it counts. Any subject, any theme, any reason.

Please come and let us know where we can see the cards you make, we do love visiting your blogs.

Here's what the DT have come up with this week to help get you started
