Hello and welcome to The Daring Cardmakers blog!
We are a team of card-makers from the UK, mainland Europe and India who'll try to inspire and encourage you to make some wonderful cards.
Every Friday at about 10am UK time, one of our design team will post a new dare/challenge, along with our creations to get you inspired.
So go on, give it a try - we dare you!
Leave us a comment with a link to your card so that we can view your lovely creations too!
We loved seeing all the "Plant a Tree" cards you shared last week. What a wonderful tour around your blogs we had - thank you so much for joining in with Zuzana's fab challenge.
This week it's Kathy here with something for you to get creative with.
I think we've probably all saved links to wonderful projects and ideas that we'd like to try out....one day, so this week I'd like you to.....
Make It Yourself
It's all about making your own embellishments. You can use one of those saved "I'll try this one day" ideas, or come up with your own decorative element and use it on your card.
Use felt, card, paper,
fabric, ribbon, lace, wire - anything you like, but no cheating and using a
ready made one
If the idea is your own, it would be especially good if you could add a little tutorial when you add it to your blog, and if not then a link to where you found the idea would be great, so we can all be inspired!
Have fun, and don't forget to come and leave your link when you're ready to share!
Thanks so much to all who joined in with Gez's 'Stencil It' dare last week. It was fabulous and inspiring to see your beautiful cards.
It's Zuzana here this week.
As we learned at school trees are essential to life. They come in all variety of shapes and sizes and they look so interesting throughout the year. So
Let's Plant a Tree!
I would like to see trees on your cards. It's completely up to you what kind of technique, colours and material you will use. Can't wait to see your creations!
Thanks to everyone that joined in with our Inky dare last week, hope you had fun inking it up!
This week it's Gez who has come up with the dare and the theme this week is:
Stencil It!
We'd like you to use a stencil in the creation of your card this week. It could be one you've made or a bought one or maybe something you have around the home you can use as a stencil? Have fun!
Here are this weeks cards from the design team to get you started:
Thanks
to everyone that joined in with our Monthly Colour Combo dare last week. Nat chose such a beautiful colour palette for us to work with.
It's Keilly here with this weeks dare and my theme is
Ink It Up!
I'd like to see cards using ink - there are lots of choices, perhaps you could ink up an image or patterned stamp or even use spray inks to create a background. Let's see how inventive we can be with this crafty basic!
The design team have created some beautiful cards to help inspire you - we can't wait to see how inky you all get!
Welcome to a new month and a new colour challenge here on the Daring Cardmakers blog!
It's Nat here, and before I share this month's colour picks we have some exciting news to share! We're very pleased to announce that the wonderfully talented Svenja will be joining the design team full time - we're so happy to have her on the team permanently and I'm sure you'll all enjoy seeing her fantastic creations each week!
Thank you also to everyone that joined in with Kathy's recipe challenge last week - there were some gorgeous entries, I hope you'll play along with this week's colour challenge. :)
And now, onto our colour combo for May - I've been seeing this particular colour palette getting repinned a lot on Pinterest - it's so beautiful and just lovely for spring/summer:
The colours you need to feature are pale pink, mint and gold.
I'm really looking forward to seeing how you combine these colours. Here's some lovely inspiration from the design team to get you started:
