Masked Magic

Thank you for playing along with last week's "Black. White. Pop!" dare!

This week it's me, Nat, setting the challenge and I've been inspired by one of the techniques I fell in love with while trying to tackle my Christmas card production backlog last year:

Masking!

I'd like to see you use masking techniques on your card, whether with masking tape, post-it notes, masking paper or masking fluid - or even some completely new-to-me medium!

It's such a fun technique for stamping, creating DIY backgrounds with ink blending, using die-cuts from masking paper, and many more looks.

Here are the projects the design team created:

Black. White. Pop!

Thank you so much for joining in with our Elemental Inspiration challenge last week.  We loved seeing your responses to Shabneez's fab picture.
It's Kathy here this time and I hope you'll have some fun with my simple challenge.
Black, White and a Pop
I'd love to see lots of Black and White cards, but with an extra little POP! of any colour of your choice.
Just look at these wonderful cards the team have made to help inspire you this week - can't wait to see what you make now!

January 2018 Elemental Inspiration

Happy New Year!

We are delighted to begin the New Year with some news!
This week we welcome Ruth (Tip Top Toppers) as a regular member of our Design Team.  Ruth is an old friend of The Daring Cardmakers, and a couple of months ago was a Guest Designer here.  We love the things she makes and thankfully she enjoyed her GD time enough to come on board on a permanent teamie!
If that wasn't exciting enough, we are also introducing a lovely, talented new Guest Designer!
Karen originates from Cornwall, but has lived in France, not far from our own Dawn, for several years now- click the link to visit Karen's blog and find out more. As it's such a short month, we chanced our arm by asking her to stay for February too, and she agreed, so we'll get to see lots of her lovely cards :)

Let's Get Crafting!
Now on to our first challenge got 2018.  It's an Elemental Inspiration challenge, with a gorgeous 'Serendipity' mood board picture chosen by Shabneez and stuffed full of beautiful treasures. You're sure to find plenty of elements to choose from here, it shouldn't be hard to find the minimum of THREE elements you need to use when you make your card.

Suggestions: colours, natural 'found' items (twigs, pine-cones etc). monogram or large letter, paper petals, key,  textures, woodgrain, ribbon, twine, beads, brads

Here's what the team came up with, check our blogs for more info
